Rio Jara/lagoon is located about 3km west of Tarifa at the river mouth of the Rio Jara. The lagoon is the prefect flat water freestyle area, however, it is only filled with water if the Atlantic Ocean pushes water into the river mouth during big high tide or rain water from the montains washes down.
Side-on-shore wind with Poniente usually creates medium and small choppy waves less than 1m. Lagoon sees constant wind and flat water. Side-off-shore wind with Levante, usually with completely flat sea and no swell Levante tends to be more gusty though.
Flat with Levante and choppy with Poniente
